"You must have been a beautiful baby, you must have been a wonderful child..."

The lyrics from that old Bing Crosby song must be in the hearts of all those who have come to know little baby Finley since his birth in November. 

As you might have heard, this baby's mom had already lost one child of kidney problems when he was only 20 minutes old and has another child, 20 months old, who is surviving on just one kidney.  She just couldn't bear the thought of losing another child and made an agonizing decision to have an abortion at 8 weeks pregnant. 

But God had a different plan and a couple of months later, Jodie Percival, the baby's mother, felt the flutter of life within her!  She took a trip to her doctor and found out that the baby had survived the procedure and she was now 19 weeks pregnant.  She and her fiance decided to keep little Finley who was born a few months later, three weeks premature and 6 lbs. 3 oz., with only minor kidney damage and expected to live a normal life.

The proud mom said, 'I knew if that operation hadn't failed he wouldn't have been there ... I just couldn't believe that this child had got through it all and looked so perfect.'  She went on to say, 'I still struggle to believe just what he has fought through. Now that he's here I wouldn't change it for the world.'

I wonder how many moms and dads are out there who are happily loving and caring for the precious 'results' of failed abortions.  I imagine that every one of them would echo Jodie Percival's words!
